Research Award – Requirements
- Only one application per applicant (i.e. Principal Investigator) may be submitted.
- Lead investigator must be an MD and/or PhD with faculty appointment at an accredited U.S. academic institution or similar nonprofit medical research institution that receives NIH and/or public foundation grants.
- FWW does not fund sociological research. If you have questions about our funding priorities please review past awardees before contacting us.
- Research should be related to one of FWW’s priority areas which include:
- Cardiovascular disease
- Leading female cancers
- Hormones’ role in disease and stage-of-life health concerns
- Diseases or health concerns that disproportionately affect women
- Exploration of gender differences related to the aforementioned topics
- F&A (facility and administrative) costs or rates may not be charged/deducted from FWW awards. At the time that an award is given, awardees are required to provide FWW with a letter from the affiliated medical institution/organization confirming such.
- Non-overlapping financial support and existing or pending financial support necessary to complete research must be in place if FWW monies are being used as partial or supplemental funds.
- Only complete, qualified online application submissions will be considered.
- Budgets are not required for initial applications however may be requested after submission date. Budgets may include costs required to complete the proposed study including staffing needs.
